Ingredients

  • Kafta:
  • 500g ground beef mince
  • 1 bunch parsley, chopped
  • 1 red capsicum, finely chopped
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pomegranate Onions:
  • 1 brown onion
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup pomegranate molasses
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin

Preparation

1. Combine kafta ingredients into a bowl and roll into 20g balls 2. Place your onions, ground cumin and salt into the i-Companion XL with the Mixer attachment. Using the manual function, set the machine to 100C for 10 minutes on Speed 3. 3. Add molasses and cook for a further 5 minutes on the same setting. 4. Remove, and place in a bowl, set aside for later. 5. Insert Flat base attachment into the bowl of the i-Companion XL. Add 2 tbsp of olive oil to the bottom of the pan. On Manual program, set machine to 150C. Cook your kafta balls until cooked through and golden brown and still pink in the middle (roughly 4-5 mins). 6. Once cooked, turn off the machine and add onions back to the bowl. Stir through the kafta balls. Rest for 5 minutes then serve.

Tip: This recipe makes roughly 25 meatballs.
