Ingredients

  • 180 g flour
  • 140 g rolled oats
  • 55 g egg
  • 35 g butter
  • 120 g double cream
  • 45 g maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 40 g caster sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 90 g pecan nuts
  • 140 g icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 4 pecan nuts

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.

2. Place all the ingredients except the pecans into the mixer bowl with the kneading/crushing blade attachment.

3. Lock the lid with the cap and set on speed 9 for 40 seconds.

4. Add the pecans through the cap. Set it to speed 8 for 10 seconds.

5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it on a floured surface.

6. Flatten the dough by hand, keeping it a circular shape with a thickness of 2 to 3 cm.

7. Cut the dough into equal shapes of 5 to 7 cm in diameter using a pastry cutter.

8. Bake for 15 minutes.

9. After taking them out of the oven, leave them to cool on a rack.

10. In a bowl, mix the icing sugar with the maple syrup. Add the water and mix well.

11. Pour the icing over the scones and decorate with a sprinkle of pecans.

Note: You can enjoy them without icing, with a little butter or jam.
