Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1⁄4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Preparation

1. Place warm water and yeast into the bowl fitted with the kneading/crushing blade. Launch the P1 pastry program. After 30 seconds, add flour, salt, sugar and butter. After 2 minutes 30 seconds of mixing, your dough should be shaped like a ball. Leave it in the bowl to rise for the next 40 minutes of the program.

2. At the end of the program, shape into an 8-inch round loaf and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and let dough rise in a warm place 30-45 minutes or until doubled in size.

3. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Cool on a wire rack.
