  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 2 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 2 cups yellow split peas (rinsed)
  • 1 litre vegetable stock
  • 1 litre water
  • Coriander, to garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

This recipe is created by Tefal brand ambassador Lorena Lys.

Healthy Dahl with Mango Chutney and Toasted Roti. (Dahl only took 20 minutes in Cook4me+). This is a super healthy, protein-packed, ridiculously economical (pack of yellow split peas is under $2), vegetarian meal that will have them licking their plates! Mango chutney featured here is made in the Cuisine Companion.

1. Set appliance to Manual and select Browning. Once pot is hot add oil and spices. Once mustard seeds start to pop, quickly add the chilli, onion and garlic and mix well.

2. Now add peas, water and stock and mix all together. Set your Cook4me+ to 20 minutes on pressure cook. Once finished, you’ll notice it’s a soupy result. If you leave it, it will thicken as it cools down.

3. Garnish with coriander and serve with toasted warm roti or naan

Lorena's Tip: I buy the frozen roti or naan from my local Indian shop and just pop on my crepe pan and they’re cooked in 2 minutes!
