  • 30 g sieved unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 600 ml water
  • 300 g (150 + 150 g) sugar

  • 100 g crumbled chocolate biscuits

Preparation

#Cook4meCakePan

Prepare the ingredients.

Grease the mould. Sieve the flour, baking powder and cocoa together. Place to one side.

Put the water and half of the sugar into the pan. Stir. Place the steam basket on top.

Whisk the eggs and the rest of the sugar. Add the cream then the flour/cocoa/baking powder mix. Pour into the mould. Place into the pan.

Pressure cooking: 40 minutes

Peel the cake away from the sides. Pour the syrup over it. Leave to cool down, remove from the mould and decorate.

Tips: To finish your syrup cake, remove it from the mould and place it onto a slightly deep plate or tray. Decorate the biscuit crumbs by adding the worms.

If you are using the Cook4me cake pan which has a slightly ridged edge, you can pour a little chocolate or caramel coulis in the middle before adding the biscuit crumbs and worms.

If you can’t find any jelly worms, you can replace them with sugar laces or home-made jelly worms using sugar or almond paste.

You can flavour the vanilla syrup or poach some pear pieces within it to accompany the wonderful cake.
