  • 150g unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 250g flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 150g maple syrup
  • 70g caster sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 180g double cream
  • For the glaze:
  • 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 50g unsalted butter, melted
  • 250g icing sugar

Butter the inside of the Snacking and baking accessory and evenly dust with flour. Remove excess flour. In a medium-sized bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Add the butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract and sugar and whisk 3 to 5 minutes on medium speed until evenly combined. Add the eggs one by one mixing well between each addition. Pour the cream in the mix and whisk until smooth.

Pour the batter into the Snacking and Baking accessory and spread evenly. Place the Accessory into your OptiGrill and close the lid. Turn the grill on. Select Manual mode setting, select orange color setting and press OK.

Bake for 15 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Let the cake cool.

Prepare the glaze: in a bowl, thoroughly mix the maple syrup and butter. Sift the icing sugar and add it slowly to the bowl while whisking. Add more syrup or more sugar to adjust the consistency if needed. Spread the glaze on the cooled cake and let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
