  • 4 veal shanks, trimmed and tied about 3/4 pound (375 g) each
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 diced carrots
  • 3 stalks diced celery
  • 1 1/2 cups of canned diced tomatoes with herbs
  • 1/3 cup of white wine
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
