Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 800 g chicken, cut into 3 cm cubes
- 4 Greek pitas
- 120 g tzatzíki (yoghurt and cucumber sauce)
- 2 medium tomatoes, quartered
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 100 g cooked chips
- Salt and pepper
Method
- In a large bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of one lemon, the crushed garlic and the oregano. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Add the meat cubes to the marinade and toss to coat well. Cover and leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight.
- Before cooking the souvlaki, soak the wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning during cooking. Thread the marinated pieces of meat onto the soaked wooden picks.
- Place the chicken skewers in the Easy Fry fitted with the plate. Start cooking. Bear in mind that cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the pieces of meat and your cooking preferences.
- Serve the souvlaki in warm pitas, topped with tzatzíki, tomatoes and red onion. Add a few chips to the inside of the bread if you like.
- You can also serve them with a Greek salad, tzatzíki and chips for a complete meal.
