Spicy Korean Stew

A hearty, flavorful dish with spicy gochujang broth, Spam, tofu, kimchi and vegetables. A comforting Korean classic.

Ingredients

  • carrot, peeled and sliced
  • 150g cabbage, sliced
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 150g shitake mushrooms
  • 1 340g can of Korean Luncheon Meat
  • Spam
  • 300g pack firm tofu, sliced in squares
  • 300g rice cakes
  • 4 cups beef stock
  • 2 tbsp Gochujang Korean hot pepper paste
  • 2 large tbsp Kimchi
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 packs of Nongshim Gourmet Spicy
  • Instant Ramen
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced to garnish

Method

  1. Organise all ingredients inside the bowl of your Tefal Rice Master & Slow Cooker RK818: the vegetables, spam, tofu, and rice cakes. Pour over the beef stock. In the middle of the ingredients, place your gochujang paste, and kimchi. Close the lid and select “Clay Pot” and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Open the lid, add the instant ramen noodles together with their spice packets and place the slices of American cheese on top. Close the lid again an continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until noodles are done.
  3. Ladle into bowls and garnish with finely sliced green onions.
