1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
2. Place the butter and syrup in the bowl fitted with the kneading/crushing blade. Launch dessert program at speed 4 at 190°F for 5 minutes.
3. Stir in the baking soda. Add oats, sugar, flour, egg and coconut. Mix at speed 6 for 15 seconds or until mixture is smooth.
4. Place tablespoons of mixture on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper and flatten. Bake for about 15-17 minutes or until golden. Repeat with remaining mixture.
